Welcome

This blog was created as part of the Erasmus Mundus Crossways in Cultural Narratives Masters programme, which is the only one of the EU approved and funded Erasmus Mundus Masters programmes to specialise in traditional humanities with a modern languages background. The Crossways Consortium comprises 6 top-class European universities.

For further information, please check the programme's official website and the universities' websites on the Useful Links section on the left. If you wish to have a specific question answered, please click on Email here and submit your query.

Mundus students, here you will find regular posts regarding the universities of the consortium, tips, activities, events, pictures, etc. Apart from checking it regularly to keep yourself up to date, a good way to use the blog is through the search device. We already have a significant amount of information on some universities of the consortium, so if you want to find information on a specific city, type its name in the search field (top left). You will then see all posts related to that specific city (because each post title contains the city's name in it). You can also type "General" in order to find information concerning everybody.

General: Call for Crossways Course Representative

Message from the Steering Committee

Call for Representatives of Erasmus Mundus Master Courses

Call for expression of interest to apply for the position of “Erasmus Mundus Course Representative” at EMA is now open.

As per the EMA Statute, each EMMC (Erasmus Mundus Master Course) is represented by a representative at the annual General Assembly meeting of EMA. The General Assembly (GA) constitutes the parliamentary power of the Association and convenes annually.

EMMC Representatives, among other responsibilities, liaise between the EMA and their respective EMMC communities.

Calls are now open to volunteer to take this representation position for your EMMC, which will be conducted through elections. This year, for the first time, we have introduced an electronic voting system. The call will close on March 20th 2009. The EMMC elections are planned to run from March 25th through April 9th, shortly after which the results will be published on the website. Please promote your EMMC representation by spreading the word among your fellow course mates.

Candidates are strongly advised to review the Statute of the Association available at www.em-a.eu. Relevant information about responsibilities, privileges, and obligations are enumerated in this document, particularly articles 10 through 13 about General Assembly, and article 26 about EMMC representatives.

In short, elected EMMC representative should:

• Be able and willing to participate in the promotion of the Association and contribute to its ongoing tasks, possibly by joining one of the Service Teams.

• Be able to attend (and actively participate in) the General Assembly 2009, which will be held on June 12 – 13, in Vilnius, Lithuania. (Travel expenses will be covered by EMA as per the current reimbursement policies)

Eligibility:

Only EMA members are eligible to participate in the EMMC Representative elections. If you are not an EMA member yet, you can easily apply for membership by visiting the EMA Community at http://community.em-a.eu.

Application:

If you have decided to apply, please fill out the application form (availlabe either from your coordinator or at www.em-a.eu) and email it back as an attachment to emmc.election AT em-a.eu by March 20th, 2009.

Queries regarding this election can be directed to emmc.election AT em-a.eu.

We look forward to receiving your application.
