Welcome

This blog was created as part of the Erasmus Mundus Crossways in Cultural Narratives Masters programme, which is the only one of the EU approved and funded Erasmus Mundus Masters programmes to specialise in traditional humanities with a modern languages background. The Crossways Consortium comprises 6 top-class European universities.

For further information, please check the programme's official website and the universities' websites on the Useful Links section on the left. If you wish to have a specific question answered, please click on Email here and submit your query.

Mundus students, here you will find regular posts regarding the universities of the consortium, tips, activities, events, pictures, etc. Apart from checking it regularly to keep yourself up to date, a good way to use the blog is through the search device. We already have a significant amount of information on some universities of the consortium, so if you want to find information on a specific city, type its name in the search field (top left). You will then see all posts related to that specific city (because each post title contains the city's name in it). You can also type "General" in order to find information concerning everybody.

General: Student body's goals for 2009-2010

Dear all,

I hope you are all doing well and that your deadlines haven’t gotten the better of you! As you must have read in Roberta’s email, I am your course representative for this year. As I stated in my application, my main goals for this year are:

  1. Organising the 2nd Crossways General Meeting;
  2. Compiling a document that will facilitate the acquisition of visas, which will be made available online to current and future students;
  3. Putting together a list of national/regional scholarships available to students from the EU;
  4. Organising a multicultural Christmas party for those far away from home who plan to spend Christmas in Europe;
  5. Requesting student representation in the consortium meetings;
  6. Liaising with the coordinating team;
  7. Organising phone conferences;
  8. Keeping the students up-to-date with any news or changes in the program.

Some of these goals are, obviously, more important/urgent than others. Nevertheless, if additional problems are to arise throughout the year please let me know and I will do my best to help you. The topics discussed in the last GM will be given priority. Let me remind you that even though I find it important to be kept up to date about your academic experience, you should always try to sort out the problem within your university first.

As June approaches, I wish you all good luck with both the Dissertation Reports and the Dissertations.

Kind regards,

Ana Sofia Guerreiro
