Welcome

This blog was created as part of the Erasmus Mundus Crossways in Cultural Narratives Masters programme, which is the only one of the EU approved and funded Erasmus Mundus Masters programmes to specialise in traditional humanities with a modern languages background. The Crossways Consortium comprises 6 top-class European universities.

For further information, please check the programme's official website and the universities' websites on the Useful Links section on the left. If you wish to have a specific question answered, please click on Email here and submit your query.

Mundus students, here you will find regular posts regarding the universities of the consortium, tips, activities, events, pictures, etc. Apart from checking it regularly to keep yourself up to date, a good way to use the blog is through the search device. We already have a significant amount of information on some universities of the consortium, so if you want to find information on a specific city, type its name in the search field (top left). You will then see all posts related to that specific city (because each post title contains the city's name in it). You can also type "General" in order to find information concerning everybody.

General: Important! Surveys

Dear all,

Firstly, for the students in Perpignan, it is extremely important that the ones who have not yet completed the questionnaire about this semester's courses do so by the end of the month. They are available in Cheryl's office and are anonymous.

Secondly, it is also very important that all non-EU (both grantholders and self-paying) students complete the online survey regarding students’ plans and expectations after completing Erasmus Mundus Master Courses aby 15 June. It only takes 20 minutes.

The goal is to give a true picture of Mundus non-EU students plans and intentions in the context of enhancing attractiveness of European higher education on the one hand and global brain drain processes on the other. Only a wide respond from students and their wish to share their opinions, views, plans and hopes with us may guarantee the survey successful accomplishment.

This project is a continuation of the  project completed last year, which resulted with publication presenting Mundus students experience, described  on the basis of respondents’ opinion and comments  representing 29 EMMCs. The coordinators of these participating courses received the book Studying in the European Union - chance and challenge for international students, it was widely distributed in third countries and the online version of our findings is available at http://www.mundus.amu.edu.pl/. The EACEA acknowledged the value of our studies and  considered “recommendations in the book a valuable asset to improve the implementation of the Erasmus Mundus Programme and encourage the participation of third countries students in this Programme”.

Leaving Perpignan: To Do list

With the end of the semester approaching, it's time to start the process of moving out (and get ready for moving in somewhere else - that's the Mundus student life!). So, here is a few things to do before leaving Perpignan:

* For those who have subscribed for internet in their rooms, check how long in advance you have to cancel it. For example, Neuf requires a letter to be sent one month in advance and as it is charged bi-monthly, we should send them a letter NOW in order to have it cancelled by mid-June and consequently avoid being charged for July and August.

* Don't forget to provide the accommodation Secretariat a photocopy of your RIB number. They will need it in order to refund the bond (la caution) charged in the beginning of the semester.

* If you want to stay longer in Canigou (our contract ends on 30 June), you have to talk to the Secretariat ASAP as they rent most of the rooms for summer courses.
